The food children eat in school is very important for their education. Not only does a well-balanced diet help with general health but establishing healthy eating habits at a young age can give them knowledge for the future.

We understand primary school children and their likes and dislikes so we tailor our menus to encourage maximum uptake

Cater Link and the Environment

Cater Link and the Environment

To Cater Link, local supply of quality produce is essential for both our chefs and our customers. We use local suppliers for butchers, fruit and vegetables, and national suppliers for dry goods and frozen foods.

The connection between local growers and suppliers produces a network of individuals who put a high emphasis on animal husbandry, food miles, seasonality and distinct flavours and taste of their produce.

The relationship between chef and supplier has always been seen as important, but with local suppliers who are passionate about where their produce is being used it becomes an integral part of running a successful and conscientious service.

By using local suppliers Cater Link chefs know they are supporting the environment through reduced transportation, environmentally sensitive farming methods and in some areas specific initiatives to promote wildlife habitats.

2 years of catering in Camden

2 years of catering in Camden

Over the last 2 years we have seen a rapid growth in the number of meals being produced, with great feedback on the freshness and quality of the food produced on site. We have managed to change a number of transported schools over to fully operational kitchens with huge success.

At a number of schools we have carried out tasting sessions which has been a great success, giving us the opportunity to speak to Parents and show off our food offer. This has been met with great enthusiasm by both pupils and parents. More are scheduled for next year so look out for the advertising posters.

We hope you have seen a difference in the service we are providing and would like to take the opportunity to thank you for the support and encouragement, long may it continue.

With our new menu flyer going out to over 10,000 households we hope to increase the meals being produced for what is a true value for money meal at £1.80 per meal per day.

Also look out for our new promotions coming throughout the year.

Best wishes
Penny Richards
Operations Director
